KBC (Kaun Banega Crorepati) is a well known game show hosted by the renowned Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan also known as Big B. It’s a dream of every Indian to be a part of the show and sit on the “Hot Seat“. The show doesn’t need any introduction which defines its popularity among the people.
Using the popularity of the show, fraudsters are sending links through the social media platforms like WhatsApp claiming that after answering few question right, they can get a chance to be on the hot seat. An officer of a private company got the same link on his WhatsApp. The link was claiming that on answering few questions right one can win 7 crores rupees. After answering it right, it send to a page to share the link to 12 persons on WhatsApp for claiming the prize money.
When the officer shared the message to 12 persons then after sometime he got a message that Rs.36000 was spent from his credit card to book a flight ticket in ETIHAD Airways.

All these things just need your single click on the fake link. These thing spread must faster on the social media platforms such as whatsapp in a hope and excitement to get the easy money.

What can be done to prevent this?
- Don’t click on the phishing mails or links. It can get your all identity data on just a single click.
- Never share your personal details or identity to unknown person or on any link.
- The offer messages forcing to share the link (e.g share to 10 person or group in whatsapp) is always fake.
- For a quick check always see if the site is https (in the address bar of browser). But, fake sites also have https these days, so be extra alert before providing any details.
